What this job actually involves

Rodent ingress survey — how it works here

Rats do not live in a sound drain — they pass through one. What lets them into a garden, a cavity or under a floor is a hole: a fractured pipe, a collapsed section, an old connection that was capped badly, or a disused run nobody closed off when the house was extended. Baiting deals with the rats that are here now. The hole is still there next month.

Questions about rodent ingress survey

Pest control has been out twice and they keep coming back. Why?
Because baiting removes the rats, not the route. As long as there is an opening in the drainage, the next ones use the same way in. A survey finds the opening — after that, sealing it is a small job.
Can you tell where they are getting into the house?
We can tell you where they are getting out of the drain, which is nearly always the answer. From a broken run they travel through the ground and come up under floors, into cavities or into a garden. Close the pipe and the route closes with it.
