Does a plastic drain ever need replacing?
Rarely as a whole. Plastic doesn't fracture with age the way clay does. What fails is a specific metre or two — crushed under a hardstanding, deformed by ground load, or a joint pulled apart by settlement. The survey locates it precisely, so you dig one hole instead of a trench.
Is the drain mine or United Utilities'?
In most cases the drains serving your property alone are your responsibility, up to the point where they meet the public sewer maintained by United Utilities. We locate that boundary as part of the survey so you understand precisely where your liability starts and ends.
How long does it take?
The survey itself is usually about an hour for a typical Great Sankey semi or terrace. Allow 90 minutes for larger properties or multiple access points.
Do you dig anything up?
