Is drainage on the former airbase land different?
It can be. Some newer estates connect into legacy base drainage, and the ground was heavily worked for decades, so settlement shows up sooner than the age of the house suggests. The survey traces where your run actually goes and whether it joins an adopted sewer or something unadopted that nobody maintains.
Is the drain mine or United Utilities'?
Most drains serving a single property — up to the point where they join the public sewer — are your responsibility. The public sewer is United Utilities'. We identify the boundary during the survey so you know exactly where your liability ends.
How long does it take?
The survey itself is usually about an hour for a typical Burtonwood semi or terrace. Allow 90 minutes for larger properties or multiple access points.
Do you dig anything up?
